About Mel

I was first introduced to triathlon in 1993 when I volunteered at the Ironman Canada finish line.   Going into that day I would have no idea how triathlon would become weaved into my fabric.  I went on to set Age Group records and then on to a professional career where I won Three IM titles and achieved a personal best 4th placing at the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.  However the biggest influence on me has been when I transitioned from racer to coach and was given the privilege to work with an array of individuals on their triathlon journey.

I have been a facilator for Traithlon BC and Triathlon Canada for their community coaching course for over 15 years.  Community is where my passion lies.

I am a certified Yoga Instructor as well as I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition over 25+ years ago. I use both to provide athletes a balanced approach to Racing and Training.

Currently I divide my time between Kaslo, in the heart of the Kootenays of BC and beautiful SilverStar just outside of Vernon, BC where  Endurance Health and Fitness started back in 2006.

I look forward to share my knowledge, the beauty of British Columbia and other areas with you as you pursue your endurance goals.
